I can’t tell you the exact place, but somewhere online the other day I saw a meme about putting all of your hope into your moisturizer. As in, hoping that it can transform your skin—get rid of any acne, signs of aging, smooth out dry patches, all the things—instantly. Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a magic moisturizer out there (though there are some really incredible face lotions available). But, there is such thing as Tula’s 24-7 Day & Night Cream, a product that’s just about as mystical as can be, according to shoppers.

The repairing lotion uses the power of probiotic and prebiotic extracts to minimize the appearance of redness and irritation, while also ensuring that your skin looks and feels healthy. But what stands out to users the most isn’t the incredible soothing components, but the anti-aging ones. In fact, reviewers have gone so far as to say that the moisturizer itself is “the fountain of youth.”

“Thank you, Tula, for giving me back my youthful skin,” wrote one five-star reviewer. “Feel years younger and have no more redness in my face. I have been using Tula for over two years and can’t believe what a difference it has m

Shop this anti-aging cream for 30 percent off during the brand’s extended Cyber Monday sale, which ends today and is offering up to 40 percent off of select items. Check out with this miracle worker that’s $38 instead of $54.

Maybe the anti-aging effects stem from the squalane (not squalene), a hydrating plant-sourced and nutrient-building substance, included in every batch. Reviewers say this nourishing formula not only heals skin but gives it a “natural, hydrated glow” in just a few dabs.

“I’ve got more compliments on my skin since I’ve been using this product,” wrote one five-star reviewer. “I can definitely tell a visible difference.”

For best use, as the last step of your morning and nighttime skincare routines. After just a week of use, you can expect to see less dull-looking and more hydrated skin. Per a study conducted by Tula, 96 percent of users said the moisturizer doesn’t lead to breakouts and 93 percent said their skin feels more firm after six weeks of use.

The formula also excludes any harmful irritants, such as parabens, phthalates and formaldehyde, that are unfortunately commonplace in many beauty products.

Now, excuse me while I go off to try and track down that meme creator to tell them all about this all-in-one moisturizer.

It’s no secret that dyeing your hair silver can be a daunting task. The process of bleaching your hair to remove all of its natural pigment can be damaging, and it’s not always successful.

Many people are hesitant to bleach their hair because they’re afraid of the damage it might cause, or they simply don’t want to go through the hassle.

Fortunately, there is another way to achieve a beautiful silver hue without having to bleach your hair.

In this article, we’ll explore how you can dye your silver hair without bleach using various at-home methods.

So if you’re looking for a way to get that gorgeous silver hair without all the drama, keep reading!

What Is Hair Bleaching And Why To Avoid It?

hair after bleaching

Bleaching is a chemical process that uses an oxidizing agent to lighten the color of hair. It can be used to remove all or part of the natural pigment from hair.

Bleaching is often done before using hair coloring to create a lighter or brighter color. While bleaching may give you the desired results, it can also cause some serious damage to your hair.

If you’re thinking about bleaching your hair, here are a few things you should know:

Hair Bleaching Can Cause Severe Damage to Your Hair

The chemicals used in hair bleaching are very harsh and can strip away the natural oils that protect your hair. This can leave your hair dry, brittle, and more susceptible to breakage.Advertisements

Hair Bleaching Can Cause Scalp Irritation

The chemicals in hair-bleaching products can also irritate your scalp, causing redness, itchiness. If you have a history of scalp irritation, you should avoid hair bleaching altogether.

Hair Bleaching Is Expensive

If you’re thinking about bleaching your hair at home, be prepared to spend a lot of money. Hair bleaching products can be quite expensive, and you’ll likely need to buy multiple treatments to achieve the desired results.

Hair Bleaching Is Time-Consuming

Hair bleaching is a time-consuming process, and it can take several hours to complete. If you’re short on time, you may want to consider another hair coloring option.

So what to do if you want to achieve silver hair dye without bleach? Let’s find out!

Can You Dye Your Hair Grey Without Bleaching?

Yes, it is possible to dye hair grey without bleaching; however, the process might take a bit longer for brunettes than for those with lighter hair.

It is also important to note that using bleach or harsh dyes can damage your hair, so it is reasonable to avoid these if possible.

For those with lighter hair, you can achieve the grey look by simply using a silver toning shampoo or conditioner.

These products will help to add a grey tint to your hair, giving you the desired look without the use of bleach or harsh dyes.

How to Dye Hair Grey Without Bleach?

silver hair without bleach

For those who are looking to dye their hair grey without bleach, there are a few different methods that can be used:

Use Hair Dye

There are a few things to keep in mind when dyeing your hair grey. First, you will need to have light hair color. Next, you will need to use a toner to remove any unwanted yellow or brassy tones from your hair.

Finally, you will need to use a grey hair dye to achieve the desired shade of grey.

We recommend using a semi-permanent or demi-permanent hair color for this process so that your hair does not become damaged from the bleaching and toning process.

Follow the instructions included with your hair color kit to achieve the best results.Advertisements

Use Hairspray

How to make your hair grey without dye? You can use special hairspray. Coloring hairspray is a great way to experiment with new hair colors without having to make a permanent commitment.

Plus, it’s a lot less damaging to your hair than traditional hair dyes. To achieve a grey hair color with hairspray, first select a light grey shade. Spray your hair evenly with the hairspray, using a back-and-forth motion.

Let the spray sit for a few minutes. You may need to repeat this process a few times to get the desired results. For best results, use a quality hairspray that is specifically designed for hair coloring.

The color will last for several hours, so you can experiment with different styles throughout the day. When you’re ready to wash it out, shampoo your hair as usual.

Use Keratin Conditioners

If you’re looking for a way to dye your hair grey, using Keratin conditioners is a great option. Not only will it help to keep your hair healthy and strong, but it can also give you the perfect color. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Start by shampooing your hair with a clarifying shampoo. This will help to remove any build-up that could prevent the dye from taking properly.
  2. Once your hair is clean, towel dry it and then apply a generous amount of conditioner.
  3. Focus the conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, avoiding the roots.
  4. Leave the conditioner in for around 20 minutes, then rinse it out.

AdvertisementsHow to Lighten Your Hair Without Bleach?

But what to do if you have dark hair and want grey hair? If you’re looking to lighten your hair without bleach, there are a few things you can do.

Use Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a great way to lighten your hair naturally. It is a natural bleach and will not damage your hair like chemical bleaches can. To use lemon juice to lighten your hair, mix together 1/2 cup lemon juice with 1/2 cup water in a spray bottle.

Spray the mixture onto your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, shampoo and condition your hair as normal. Repeat this process every few days until you achieve the desired lightness.Advertisements

Use Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea can be used as a natural hair-bleaching agent. To use, brew a cup of chamomile tea and let it cool. You need to use a minimum of 5 tea bags.

Once cooled, pour the tea into a spray bottle and spritz on clean, damp hair. Let the tea sit for 30 minutes before rinsing out. For best results, repeat this process once a week.

Chamomile tea can also be used as a natural conditioner. Simply brew one tea bag, let it cool, and pour it over clean, damp hair. Let the tea sit for 15 minutes before rinsing out. For best results, use this conditioning treatment once a week.

Use Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda

To use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to bleach hair, mix together equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Apply the mixture to your hair, making sure to cover all of it.

Let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse it out with shampoo and water. You may need to repeat this process a few times to get the desired effect. Be sure to use a conditioner afterwards to help repair any damage that may have been done to your hair.

After you lighten your hair you can dye it grey. Use the methods and tips we described above!Advertisements

How to Take Care of Dyed Grey Hair

If you have dyed your hair grey and are having trouble keeping it looking good, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Here are a few tips on how to take care of dyed grey hair:

  • First and foremost, avoid over-washing your hair. Washing your hair too frequently can strip away the natural oils that keep your hair healthy and hydrated. Instead, wash your hair every other day or every third day using a sulfate-free shampoo. In between washes, be sure to use a dry shampoo to absorb any excess oil.
  • Use a shampoo and conditioner for colored hair. This will help to keep your hair looking its best.
  • Be sure to avoid using heat-styling tools as much as possible. If you must use them, be sure to use a heat protectant spray beforehand. When drying your hair, use the lowest heat setting possible.
  • Use a UV protectant spray when you’re out in the sun. This will help to prevent your hair from becoming discolored.
  • Make sure to get regular haircuts. This will help to keep your hair looking healthy and prevent it from becoming damaged.
  • Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week. This will help to keep your hair hydrated and looking its best.

FAQ

How to make your hair silver without dye?

The best natural option for coloring your hair grey is to make your own hair masks. A hair mask may naturally lighten your hair, similar to lemon juice. When apple cider vinegar and water are applied to the coat, it can make it lighter.

To use a hair mask, simply apply it to clean, damp hair. Let the mixture sit for 20-30 minutes before rinsing it out. After that you can use purple shampoo to make your hair ash!

How light does your hair have to be to dye it grey?

Your hair should be a level 8 or lighter on the color wheel to dye it grey. This ensures that your hair will be light enough to take on the new color without being too dark.

Does purple shampoo make hair more grey?

Purple shampoo can actually help to make your hair appear more grey. This is because purple shampoo helps to neutralize any yellow tones in your hair, which can make your hair look brighter and more silver.

Summary

After reading the content above, you should know that hair bleaching can be a time-consuming process, and it’s important to take good care of your hair during and after the bleaching process.

We’re debunking some of the most common sun care myths we’ve heard recently, so that you can stay sun smart this summer!

You can only burn in summer

Your skin can actually burn any time of the year. While it’s true that the sun’s UV rays are stronger during the summer months, our skin is exposed to them all year round, even when it’s cloudy. This means you can still get sunburnt on cool, hazy or cloudy days.

You can’t get sunburnt inside or in the shade

You can still burn when inside and in the shade. You may be surprised to learn that UV rays can pass through leaves, branches, windows and clouds – they can even reflect off water, sand, glass and concrete. While sitting in the shade or indoors does limit you UV exposure, it doesn’t mean you’re escaping it completely!

You only need to apply sunscreen once a day

You should reapply sunscreen regularly throughout the day. To ensure your skin is always protected, we’d recommend reapplying sunscreen at least every two hours if you’re exposed to the sun, regardless of SPF factor.

A tan that builds isn’t dangerous

There is no healthy way to tan from UV rays. Any tan we get from the sun is actually an indication that our skin has been damaged and is trying to protect itself against further UV radiation. Achieve a golden, confidence boost with our 100% natural, skin-loving tanning products instead!

ALL SUNCARE WORKS IN THE SAME WAY

We use both mineral and chemical sun filters and they protect from UV rays in slightly different ways.

CHEMICAL

Chemical sun filters absorb and convert UV rays into heat, in the same way the melanin in your skin converts UV to heat when you tan. The heat generated by this process is then released on the surface of the skin.

Sun care products containing chemical sun filters typically have a silkier consistency, and guarantee a transparent application on the skin.

MINERAL

Mineral sun filters sit on the skin’s surface, where they reflect UV rays away to effectively protect against the sun. The process of reflecting rather than converting UV means that mineral sunscreens are a popular option for those with super-sensitive skin that might react to the chemical sun filter process.

Sun care products containing mineral sun filters tend to be richer in texture, making them a great choice for anyone who prefers a thicker consistency.

Makeup acts as a UV barrier

Makeup doesn’t act as a barrier and will not protect you skin sufficiently. UV rays are still able to pass through your makeup, penetrating the skin’s surface and causing sun damage. Even when wearing makeup with an added SPF, we recommend also wearing a facial SPF to ensure all areas of the face – including those you wouldn’t apply makeup to – are protected.

It’s too late to protect my skin – it’s already damaged

It’s never too late to start taking care of your skin. Skin damage is cumulative. On average only 47% of lifetime exposure occurs by age 40, which means that the most sun damage occurs after this time. Start safeguarding yourself now by wearing a broad spectrum SPF  50 sunscreen every day – your skin will thank you for it.

Scarlett Johansson is a hair icon, from her pixie cuts to sexy tousled bobs. Over the years, she has rocked every kind of style, hairdo, texture, and lengths, and has left plenty of beauty and fashion inspiration for the rest of us to follow in her footsteps.

Scarlett is known best for her voluminous, bouncy curls and waves, whether she is wearing a chic cropped cut or a shoulder-length bob cut. She’s got naturally thick hair, but her great style and voluminous locks can be attributed to her celebrity stylist, as well as some expensive products.

Scarlet Johansson’s short hairstyles are also known for changing her hair color quite often, rotating from a rich brunette and black to fiery red and platinum blonde hair. We can’t say we have a favorite Scarlet’s hair because she does them all justice.

Whether you are looking to mimic her hot red hairstyle from the Avengers, or copy one of her gorgeous formal updos she’s been spotted wearing on the red carpet, we’ve got all the best Scarlett Johansson short hair cuts and styles. We’ve also added some pro tips to help you replicate your favorite Scarlett Johansson’s short hairstyles!

Scarlett Johannson Short Hair – Pixie Cuts

Brunette Pixie

Brunette Pixie

This Scarlett Johansson’s pixie cut has tons of playful, feathery rather long layers that frame Scarlett’s face shape rather well. This simple hairstyle is perfect for ladies with diamond, oval, or heart-shaped faces because it provides a bit of coverage around the forehead and slightly frames the sides of the face.

Styling Tip: She likely achieves her volume and a slightly wet hair texture by applying mousse to damp hair and blow drying with a round brush. To get those sweet piecey layers, it is recommended to use a large-barrel curling iron and finish off with a strong-hold hairspray.

Scarlett Johansson Short Red Hair

Scarlett Johansson Short Red Hair

Scarlett’s porcelain skin tone looks ravishing alongside this bold red hair color. In this look, she is wearing a purposefully-messy hairstyle, pulled back to accentuate her glowing makeup. Scarlett’s hair is quite short here, so she doesn’t have much to work with, but the ends are pinned to the back of her head to give her an elegant pixie cut updo.

Styling Tip: If you’re rocking a longer pixie or short bob, you can replicate this look by applying texturizing spray to dry hair and teasing at the crown. Pull your hair back, pinning the ends to the back of your head with bobby pins that match the color of your hair. Manipulate your locks with your fingers to give it a tousled look, and finish off with hairspray.

Blonde Side Swept Bangs

Blonde Side Swept Bangs

This is one of our absolute favorite haircuts from Scarlett Johansson. The long hair pixie is unique, flirty, and elegant all at the same time. The length also allows for some freedom when it comes to styling. As you’ll see in the next couple of looks, she slicks this haircut back, as well as curls it and styles it with tons of volume. Oh, and fun fact – this is the look Scarlett wore to the MTV Movie Awards in 2015. Talk about a throwback.

Styling Tip: If you have a similar haircut to the one pictured, you can easily style your hair this way. Simply blow dry with a round brush and part your hair into a deep part. Then, flat iron in the direction you want the hair to lay. Finish off with some texturizing spray, and tousle with your fingers.

Short Slicked Back Hair

Short Slicked Back Hair

@scarlett.actress

The slicked-back look has been one of the most popular hair trends of 2019. We’re loving this Scarlett Johansson haircut because it’s extremely simple, yet bold and elegant. On a normal day, this short hair pixie can be styled with curls, flat ironed, or worn natural. But for more formal events, her slicked-back pixie is perfect.

Scarlett Johansson Voluminous Blonde Pixie

Scarlett Johansson Voluminous Blonde Pixie

If you’re looking for hairstyles with a lot of height on top, this one is super stylish. It is perfect for women with rounder faces because the height of the hair will elongate your face and make it appear thinner. It’s a great hassle-free do that will stay in place all evening, whether you are at a formal event or out on the town.

Short Hair Shaved Sides

Short Hair Shaved Sides

@scarlett.actress

This Scarlett Johansson hair short is great for someone looking to achieve an edgier style. The shaved sides are bold and scream confidence, but you do not have to be an Avengers movie star to pull it off. The great thing about hairstyles like these is that they work with all types of hair, from thin locks to thick, coarse hair.

Scarlett Johannson Short Hair – Bob Haircuts

Black Widow Bob

Black Widow Bob

@scarlett.actress

One of Scarlett’s more feminine, simple looks is this sleek short bob. In fact, this cut is one of the most popular short haircuts for women of the year, and we do not see that changing in 2023. Its simplistic elegance, and ease of styling, makes it a go to for many women.

Scarlett Johansson’s Slicked Back Bob

Scarlett Johansson's Slicked Back Bob

As you can tell, Scarlett can work slicked back hairstyles like no other. Styles like these work best for women with oval, round, or oblong face shapes – not so much for those with more square bone structure.

This is because the blunt cut stops right around the chin, which draws attention and prominence to that area. If you already have square face (you are blessed, believe us), it may make the structure look harsh.

Scarlett Johansson’s Blonde Lob

Scarlett Johansson's Blonde Lob

@scarlett.actress

This is it – the most iconic look Scarlett has ever worn on a red carpet. Why is that? While we think we can all agree that she looks breathtaking regardless of the way her hair is styled, there is something timeless and sexy about this lob. It’s a classic blonde bombshell look that all platinum-hair ladies strive for.

Strawberry Blonde Short Hair

Strawberry Blonde Short Hair

This short bob takes us all the way back the 1920s. The bouncy curls, side pin, and red lip were definitely not invented in this generation, but we love how Scarlett can rock a throwback look just as well as she can something more modern.

Scarlett Johansson Curled Lob

Scarlett Johansson Curled Lob

@scarlett.actress

You may not be able to tell here, but Scarlett is wearing some (most-likely clip-in) extensions. When you rock short hairstyles most of the time, it is a great idea to have some of these on hand for the times you want to experiment with something a bit longer.

Pin-Up Curls

Pin-Up Curls

We’re loving this Marilyn Monroe-esque look that Scarlett rocked at a red carpet event. Her platinum blonde hairstyles are some of our favorites. This formal hairstyle can be accomplished with a large-barrel curling iron – or if you want to go old school – use a set of hair curlers.

Scarlett Johannson Short Hair – Updos

Milkmaid Braids

This can be one of the more complicated hairstyles to attempt at home, so if you are interested in replicating it, check out this quick YouTube tutorial.

Voluminous Updo

Scarlett Johansson Short Hair Updo

Scarlett Johansson Short Haircut

When you’ve got short hair, it can feel impossible to find an updo that works with your cut. However, this curled, voluptious look works perfectly for short hairstyles. All you have to do is curl the hair with a one-inch barrel, tease the top, and pin the ends up at the back of the head.

What Causes Undereye Bags, Dark Circles, Eye Wrinkles & Puffy Eyes?

Several factors contribute to the emergence of undereye bags, dark circles, wrinkles and puffiness. Though you might hear these phrases used interchangeably, each one is different to the other. Here’s a closer look at the main culprits.

Eye Wrinkles

They say the eyes express all the joy you’ve experienced in life. And sometimes that joy manifests itself in fine lines and wrinkles around the delicate eye area as you age. Unlike the muscles in the rest of the body (which are connected to our bones), facial muscles are attached to our skin tissue. When we smile or frown, the muscles beneath the skin contract and expand, causing temporary creases and expression lines. These wrinkles can appear as crow’s feet around the eye area. To learn more about crow’s feet, watch this In The Mix video where Lead Skin Care Trainer Natalie Pergar demonstrates how to massage your eyes. This technique tightens the skin which will help reduce the appearance of crow’s feet.

Eminence Organics International Educator Brian Goodwin tells us: “Undereye bags are a loss of tightness and tone in the tissue underneath the eyes, created by multiple causes, which forms a perceived tired or fatigued look.” Typical signs and symptoms of undereye bags are mild swelling, droopiness and saggy or loose skin. As you age, the tissues and muscles that support your eyelids naturally begin to weaken. The skin loses collagen and elastin and when this occurs, the skin around your eye area begins to slacken and sag. The loss of skin elasticity allows the fat that is normally confined to the space around your eye area to shift and slide into the lower eyelids. This causes droopy-looking eyelids where you see the skin sag towards the eyes, causing you to look less alert and more tired.

Puffiness

Puffy eyes are the result of temporary swelling that is typically caused by fluid accumulation. When fluid collects and pools around your eyes and the surrounding tissue, it can cause unsightly swelling and puffiness. Sometimes, a puffy eye area just comes down to the natural aging process. As you age, the tissue around your delicate eye area starts to weaken. The skin becomes less elastic due to collagen loss and can start to sag, leading to more prominent eye bags and a droopier appearance. With time, the tissue and muscles surrounding the eyes also weaken, adding to swelling and puffiness.

Twin villains salt and alcohol are major culprits of swollen and puffy eyes. You may love your salt-rimmed margarita cocktails, but too many and you’ll begin to see the effects. Excess sodium and alcohol levels can cause your body and skin to become dehydrated. When this happens, your skin and other organs scramble to hang onto as much water as possible. The result is puffiness and bloating all over, particularly under the eyes.

The other causes of puffy eyes? Seasonal allergies or insufficient shut-eye. When you come into contact with allergens such as pollen, dander or dust mites, your body goes into defense mode, creating puffiness around the sensitive eye area. When you skimp on sleep, the blood vessels under your eyes become dilated, leading to swelling and puffiness.

Dark Circles

Dark circles are caused by genetics, your age or lack of sleep. Dark circles appear because the skin has become thinner under the eyes which makes blood vessels appear more visible. As Healthline explains, not getting enough sleep or experiencing extreme fatigue can cause dark circles to form under your eyes.

If you struggle with any of these pesky eye concerns, it may be helpful to consider reducing stress and allergen exposure or prioritizing sleep. But if you can’t make these changes, don’t worry, you can minimize their appearance with smart skin care solutions.

Uneven Skin Tone

Uneven skin tone around the eye area can refer to skin discoloration or changes in your skin texture such as dry patches or blotchiness. The affected skin stands out as it may have dark patterns or markings of different coloring from the rest of the skin.

Some skin care products can improve the look of uneven skin, revealing a bright and more even-looking complexion. Ingredients such as bearberry extract, an antioxidant that brightens the appearance of an uneven skin tone.

How To Brighten Dark Circles

Eminence Organics Director of Product Development Colette Lieberman recommends the Wild Plum Eye Cream for dark circles. It includes Vitamin K to help reduce the appearance of dark undereye circles and broken capillaries and reduces the look of redness.

Best Organic Eye Creams To Fix Undereye Bags

Since the delicate skin around the eye area grows less elastic with age, and leads to more prominent eye bags, targeted treatment is needed to fix this undereye issue. Our Snow Mushroom Moisture Cloud Eye Cream provides powerful botanical peptides. This formula diminishes the look of undereye bags to reveal a refreshed appearance.

How To Smooth The Appearance Of Eye Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles are an inevitable part of the aging process. At Eminence Organics, we strive to help you age gracefully and naturally. To tackle pesky crow’s feet, we recommend layering Marine Flower Peptide Eye Cream with Hibiscus Instant Line Filler. Our Marine Flower Peptide Eye Cream employs naturally derived plant peptides, innovative algae extracts and Smart Collagen+ Complex to visibly lift and plump the eye area. It also contains botanical hyaluronic acid to smooth, plump and maintain long-lasting hydration. The Hibiscus Instant Line Filler smooths the skin tone and look of fine lines and wrinkles. With an innovative curved tip applicator, this Advanced Instant Lift fX treatment consists of botanical peptides from marine flowers to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

How To Reduce Puffiness

For particularly puffy days, try a cool compress. Experts swear by the de-puffing power of chilled, moist green tea bags. Lead Skin Care Trainer Natalie Pergar has an additional trick up her sleeve: spoons (yes, spoons). Follow these steps to chill out your eye area:

  • Pop a pair of spoons in your fridge overnight
  • In the morning, press the cool spoons around your eye area for 30-second intervals
  • Work from the outside in to boost lymphatic drainage

Finally, apply an eye cream with natural ingredients that reduce puffiness, bring down inflammation and promote circulation. We recommend applying the Snow Mushroom Moisture Cloud Eye Cream. This cream contains reishi mushroom, a powerful source of antioxidants which helps reduce the look of puffiness. The formula also contains botanical peptides from quinoa seed to help de-puff the under eye area.

You can also use the Marine Flower Peptide Eye Cream since this ultra-rich eye cream not only helps with wrinkles but also improves the look of puffiness and dark circles. In addition, tackle tired-looking eyes instantly with the Hibiscus Ultra Lift Eye Cream. This eye cream is enriched with caffeine, hibiscus and an ice wine active to visibly de-puff eyes. It features a cooling stainless steel rollerball applicator that assists in minimizing the appearance of swelling.

How To Even Out Skin Tone

Eminence Organics’ Bearberry Eye Repair Cream is a brightening eye cream designed to rejuvenate the delicate undereye area. Containing ingredients like meadow eyebright, hop and bearberry extract, it brightens the appearance of an uneven skin tone and hydrates the eye area to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This eye cream is even made from Biodynamic® ingredients from Demeter International Certified Biodynamic® farms, resulting in the purest and most potent ingredients.

Steps To Apply An Eye Cream

Now that you’ve chosen your eye cream, it’s time to apply it properly. Follow these easy steps to add an eye cream to your skin care routine:

  1. Take a pea-sized amount (this is ample coverage for both eyes)
  2. Warm on back of hand
  3. Use your ring finger (it has the least amount of pressure)
  4. Tap around eye bone area

Bonus Tips For A More Youthful-Looking Eye Area

Cut Back On Salty Foods

Salty foods could be the root cause of your undereye bags. If your eye bags are particularly puffy, it may be time to avoid pre-packaged, processed foods that are high in sodium and load up on whole foods like fresh fruits and veggies.

Apply SPF Around Your Eyes

An uneven skin tone can be caused by too much sun exposure or smoking. Sometimes a lack of hydration and severe winter weather can create dry patches around the eyes. Some changes like applying an SPF daily to your complexion and wearing sunglasses can protect your skin from the sun.

Facial Massage

Facial massage is an easy and effective way to improve circulation and activate a sluggish lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage is a massage technique that targets the lymph nodes to encourage the movement of fluid throughout the body. This, in turn, helps to reduce swelling and de-puff areas where lymph fluid has accumulated, like under your eyes. Follow these steps to perform a spa-level facial massage at home.

Stay Elevated While You Sleep

Another out-of-the-box trick to reduce undereye bags is to keep your head lifted while you’re sleeping. Gravity can cause excess fluid to pool under your eyes, causing them to droop and sag. Try to sleep on your back and prop your head up with an extra pillow to keep it elevated. You can even purchase a special wedge pillow for additional comfort.

Now is the time to make room for all things cozy: sweaters, scents, nail polish hues, and, of course, hair colors. Spring and summer may have been all about cool shades like bright ’90s-inspired blonde and rosy-toned reds, but fall has officially ushered in the season of richer, warmed-up tones. One such decadent example? Mocha brown hair. The hue is popping up on celebs, runways, and Pinterest boards all over, and top colorists predict it’s going to be a major trend this fall-winter season.

There are so many ways to rock brown hair, of course — but mocha happens to be an uber-flattering variation. “It’s a beautiful, rich, chocolate-y brunette color that can complement many different skin tones,” Garnier celebrity hair colorist Nikki Lee says. And hairstylist and makeup artist Arianna Blean notes that yummy mocha brown is the perfect way to transition your strands through the holiday season and beyond.

If you’re interested in making the hair change, note that the options are plenty — you could opt for all-over color or even mocha-toned highlights. Oh, and another reason to rock mocha brown strands? The shade is much easier to maintain than blonde, and during the fall and winter months, you’re not spending as much time stewing in the harsh sun — so that means longer-lasting results without fading, notes celebrity and editorial hairstylist Joseph Chase. Scroll on for your expert-approved guide to the mocha brunette hair color.

The key to nailing mocha brunette hair is to feature a blend of warm and cool, caramel-esque tones that sparkle in the autumn sunlight, says Blean. “This isn’t a flat brown color,” she tells Bustle. Within that range, you can go take it darker, à la a double shot of espresso, or lean closer into the creamier mocha latte territory (heavy on the almond milk) Blean explains. Either way, think cozy/chocolatey/coffeeshop vibes. And, as Lee notes, it’s super customizable.

#1 What Is Mocha Brown Hair?

The key to nailing mocha brunette hair is to feature a blend of warm and cool, caramel-esque tones that sparkle in the autumn sunlight, says Blean. “This isn’t a flat brown color,” she tells Bustle. Within that range, you can go take it darker, à la a double shot of espresso, or lean closer into the creamier mocha latte territory (heavy on the almond milk) Blean explains. Either way, think cozy/chocolatey/coffeeshop vibes. And, as Lee notes, it’s super customizable.

#2 What To Know Before Going Mocha Brown

If you’re going from blonde to mocha brunette and you think, come spring, you’ll be itching for lighter locks again, Blean says you can always ask your colorist for a semi-permanent color. This means it will gradually fade over time, “so there’s no commitment and you will help preserve the overall health of your hair,” she explains. That said, going darker is way less scary than trying to lighten dark hair. In fact, Chase says, “Darker tones are great for filling the cuticle and restoring health to the hair — a plus side to making the switch.”

#3 How To Maintain Mocha Brunette

All the experts agree: As far as maintenance goes, dark hair colors like mocha brown are fairly chill, especially if you’re already naturally brunette. “Make sure you are using color-safe shampoo and conditioner to help preserve your color,” Blean says. She adds that tinted conditioning masks will also help warm your color and protect your strands between dye jobs.

If your hair is lighter or if you’re committed to a perfect match, Chase says to expect to plan a root touch-up every six to eight weeks. Shop maintenance essentials below.
